Creative Wallpaper Ideas

Wallpaper is no longer just considered the stuff that’s impossible to remove from your walls; it has become something far more useful than that! I’ve seen wallpaper popping up all over the place, including as art, on ceilings and even on furniture. Here are some great ways I’ve seen wallpaper being used around the web:

Walls:

Okay so these first two aren’t unique in their placement, but I definitely love these patterns and the concept of leaving the wallpaper to be the decoration. Little else is needed when your walls are so snazzy.

Ceilings:

If you want a little design in a room but don’t want to go all out, think of the ceiling as an accent wall. You can put a bold wallpaper on the ceiling and leave the walls a simpler shade. Or you can do as above and blanket the walls and ceiling with a pattern you love. If you want to see more great ceiling wallpaper examples, be sure to check out my pinboard.

Framing wallpaper is such a clever way to decorate your home exactly the way you want to. Just hit some garage sales or your local Good Will or Salvation Army and you’re sure to find some frames you can put wallpaper in. Don’t even worry about having glass to cover it; a raw wooden frame over a square piece of wallpaper would look fantastic.

I think shelving is a really neat place to put wallpaper. Like the ceiling, it’s a smaller commitment than papering an entire wall. This can add pops of color or design while staying somewhat hidden.

Now that you’ve seen some of these thrifty ways of using wallpaper, where would you dare use it besides a wall? Do you have any other suggestions that I haven’t included? I’d love to hear from you!

DÉCOR
In my opinion, the best décor for a Memorial Day party is festive yet not red, white and blue everything and flags everywhere you look. Here are a few cute ideas that aren’t too over-the-top. And just remember, anything you buy for this party can be reused for your Fourth of July celebrations!

Fabulous Foyers

The foyer is the first thing you see when walking into a house, meaning it completely sets the tone. You’ve only got one chance to make a first impression so you’ve got to make it count! Here are some foyers that I absolutely adore! From bold colors to textures to animal prints, these foyers are great examples of how to do it right.

My first impression upon seeing this whimsical foyer is that the house is fun and eclectic, with colors bursting from odds and ends placed all around. The lighting fixture fits perfectly with the quirky style, too.

It doesn’t get much more timeless than this foyer! It’s traditional, with the open spaces and white walls, but the mix of bright yellow and the classic oversized chair really add some beautiful pizzazz to it. I can just envision the nearby room where we’d drink tea and eat biscuits!

This bright foyer is such a treat for the eyes! The mismatched colors and patterns mixed with the gold table, frame and chandelier is the perfect combination of class and creativity. I’d love to see what the rest of this house looks like.

I love the color and texture of this foyer! It’s warm and inviting and it suggests that the rest of the house will be equally as aesthetically pleasing. The lights brighten it up and make it feel lively.

How fantastic is this foyer? There’s so much red and yet it isn’t overdone. I love the animal prints mixed with the floral prints, and the stairwell and the plant give it great depth. It’s a perfectly done foyer!

As you can see, foyers truly set the tone for the rest of the house. Be sure when you’re decorating that you keep the theme going throughout the rest of the home. Check out this pin to see a ton of great foyer inspiration!
