Interior DIY

There’s something so rewarding about decorating your home with stuff you created yourself! From art on the walls to statement pieces around the house, there are so many DIY ideas out there for interior design.

Décor:

This is a fantastic idea! All you need is a ladder and some slabs of wood (which you could sand down and paint any color you’d like) and you’ve got yourself a nice series of shelves! This is great for storage but also fills up space on a big, open wall.

Next time you pop a wine bottle, start collecting your corks! You can put them in a frame like this one above and make an adorable and functional corkboard. If you search DIY corkboard in Google or Pinterest you’ll see a plethora of ideas.

There’s something so fun about upcycling old pieces. This example here is an old wooden pallet turned into a crafty table. A hammer, some nails and a good eye can get you an eclectic, adorable piece like this.

Wall Art:

I love this DIY pinboard. Not only is it beautiful on the wall, but it’s so useful as well! Pinterest is great, but there’s something about a tangible pinboard right in front of your computer that really gets the creative juices flowing.

If you don’t feel like spending a ton of money on a huge piece of art, why not blow up a picture from your travels? Not only will it look great but it will be a special reminder of a lovely trip.

You may not think you’re artistic, but grab a piece of canvas like the one above and try throwing some paint on it. You’ll be amazed at how fun and beautiful a piece of DIY art can be.

Stencils:

Believe it or not, this wall was done with a stencil! You can order a stencil like this from Etsy or in any craft store. This way you can choose your colors and design and have fun making it in the process.

Here’s another stencil from Etsy that I just love. Doesn’t it look great?
